Rhea County High School's Best Buddies Chapter Breaks Membership Records

Rhea County High School is celebrating an extraordinary achievement as its Best Buddies chapter shatters previous membership records. For the 2024-2025 school year, the club has welcomed over 200 members, marking a significant milestone in the chapter's history.

Best Buddies, an international organization dedicated to creating equal opportunities for friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for all individuals, has seen unprecedented growth at our school. This surge in membership reflects our students' commitment to inclusivity and their desire to make a positive impact in their peers' lives.

Chapter president Hailee Kosek expressed her enthusiasm: "I am so excited to lead a chapter that has now grown to over 200 members. Every person who joins is one more person standing for inclusion and helping us to spread it even more than we already have. It makes me so happy to see a complete change of culture. Not just within these school walls, but beyond them into our community."

The rapid expansion presents both opportunities and challenges. The chapter's leadership team is collaborating to ensure they can effectively manage the larger group while maintaining the quality of their programs and one-to-one friendships.

This growth in Best Buddies membership not only benefits the club but also promises to foster a more inclusive and understanding school environment. We look forward to seeing the positive changes this enlarged chapter will bring to Rhea County High School throughout the year.
